Perhaps, we are all like Mo Yan, late bloomers, or on the way to becoming one. Mo Yan came from an ordinary rural family, and his success came late in life, through hard work and perseverance, just like this late-ripening rice. As Mo Yan said in his book 'The Late Bloomer': we, the late bloomers, need a year to achieve what the early bloomers have accomplished in ten years. However, late bloomers may still become winners. They may not understand the ways of the world, but they have rare sincerity; they may not know how to avoid risks for personal gain, but they possess valuable kindness; they may not soar to success immediately, but they have plenty of staying power.
