冶金工程专业旨在培养德智体美全面发展,具有扎实基础、宽广知识、复合技能和高素质的专业人才。毕业生应了解现代冶金和材料学科发展,适应社会经济和科学技术发展要求,掌握现代冶金工程(冶金物理化学、钢铁冶金和有色金属冶金)相关基础理论、专业知识和基本技能,善于应用现代信息技术和管理技术,具备国际化视野、富有民族责任感和创新精神,具有分析和解决复杂工程问题的能力,毕业后5年左右能够在其所从事的冶金工程及相关领域承担生产、管理及经营、工程设计和科学研究等工作的工程技术型或科学技术型高素质应用人才。
