Desmond Doss: Medal of Honor Recipient & Conscientious Objector

Desmond T. Doss won the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II. As a conscientious objector, Doss refused to carry a weapon and instead served as a medic. During the battle, he repeatedly risked his own life to rescue wounded soldiers and bring them to safety, even after being injured himself. His bravery and selflessness saved the lives of dozens of his fellow soldiers and inspired others to continue fighting.
