The Impact of Intelligent Development on Human Capital Mismatch: Evidence from a Chain Intermediary and Spatial Model
Drawing upon the chain intermediary effect model and spatial model, our study reveals that intelligent development holds promise for mitigating the mismatch of human capital. Notably, the infrastructure improvements that undergird intelligent development have emerged as the most salient factor in this regard. This positive effect operates through two channels - namely, income structure adjustment and factor flow. Specifically, regions sharing a common economic base stand to benefit from the positive spillover effects of mismatch correction. Conversely, geographical proximity can exacerbate the degree of mismatch due to the 'siphon effect'.
