The Heterogeneous Impact of Intelligent Development on Human Capital Mismatch Across Cities: An Economic Perspective

From an economic development perspective, the impact of intelligent development on human capital mismatch is heterogeneous. This study assesses the economic development scale of different cities based on two criteria: population size and per capita output value. The analyzed samples are categorized into small and medium-sized cities, big cities, super-large cities, and super-cities based on population size, and developed and underdeveloped cities based on per capita GDP. Results from Table 8 suggest that intelligent development is more effective in reducing human capital mismatch in small and medium-sized cities and underdeveloped cities. Specifically, improvements in infrastructure levels have the most significant impact on reducing mismatch. A 1% increase in intelligent conditions results in a 1.25% and 0.46% reduction in mismatch for small and medium-sized cities and underdeveloped cities, respectively. Furthermore, intelligent application also has a positive impact on reducing mismatch in small and medium-sized cities and improving human capital in developed cities.
