Research-Driven Nursing Student Seeking Public Health Masters: Experience in COPD Self-Management, GCP, and Clinical Practice
As a nursing student preparing for the cross-disciplinary postgraduate entrance examination in public health, I have been actively involved in various research projects. One of my major strengths lies in my experience in a national-level research project, where I participated in the development of a self-management program for patients with stable COPD. This project has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the importance of information needs in patient care, as well as the significance of patient empowerment and self-management in chronic disease management.
I have also led a community-based project on fall prevention for elderly people, although it did not win any awards. This experience has allowed me to develop my leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a challenging environment.
Furthermore, I hold an ICH-GCP certificate and have participated in GCP training organized by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. This has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct ethical and high-quality clinical research.
During my internship at Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital, I attended multiple small lectures across various departments, where I learned from clinicians who integrated clinical cases into their analysis and intervention strategies. I also presented a report on one of these lectures. This experience has enhanced my clinical reasoning ability and enabled me to understand the importance of evidence-based practice.
Overall, my research experience, leadership skills, clinical knowledge, and commitment to evidence-based practice make me a strong candidate for postgraduate studies in public health.
