Public Health Research Skills: Nursing Background & Experience

As a nursing student who has transitioned into the field of public health through cross-disciplinary postgraduate studies, I possess a unique blend of knowledge and skills that enable me to approach research questions from different perspectives. My involvement in a national-level research project that focused on the development of a self-management plan for COPD patients has given me hands-on experience in conducting surveys, data analysis, and report writing. Additionally, my leadership role in analyzing the factors that contribute to falls among elderly people in the community has further honed my research skills.

Moreover, my certification in International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and my participation in GCP training organized by the Chinese Pharmacological Society have equipped me with a deep understanding of the ethical and regulatory standards required for clinical research. During my internship at Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital, I had the opportunity to deliver several presentations and reports, which helped me to develop effective communication skills and enhance my ability to translate complex scientific concepts into layman's terms.
