Abstract：Engineering economy is a discipline that explores issues such as investment, cost, benefit, and risk in engineering projects. Its research content involves multiple fields such as economics, finance, decision-making, and management, aiming to provide a scientific basis for investment and decision-making in engineering projects.

This paper first introduces the basic concepts and research content of engineering economy, including investment decision-making, cost analysis, benefit evaluation, and risk analysis. Secondly, through case analysis, it explores how to use the methods of engineering economy to invest and make decisions in engineering projects. Finally, the application prospects and future development of engineering economy are prospectively discussed.
