Cargo Inspection Report: Fuel Seepage Observed at Terminal

Our surveyor conducted an inspection of the cargo at the terminal on July 27 and 28. The cargo pile remains unchanged and is still stored in the D1 open yard. It is surrounded by flood prevention sandbags and covered with protective nets for safety. No traces of fuel were found outside of the sandbags. However, when the net was lifted, fuel was observed to be seeping from the bottom of the cargo pile. The terminal has informed us that they are closely monitoring the condition of the cargo pile. The rate of fuel seepage is relatively slow, and they are currently implementing regular clean-up measures to address the seeped fuel. The pollutants are being temporarily collected and placed in pollution collection barrels near the cargo pile. The terminal has not yet disclosed the next steps of the cargo handling plan, but they have mentioned ongoing discussions with the consignee to determine the best course of action.
