Urgent Deck and Hull Cleaning Underway to Prevent Oil Pollution Ahead of Rain

In anticipation of rain forecasted for tonight, urgent action is being taken to prevent oil pollution from entering the sea. We have requested the dock to promptly clean the deck and hull of the ship, addressing any existing oil contamination.

At approximately 12:30 PM, dock personnel arrived and began the cleaning process. Contaminated substances on the deck and any spilled cargo were carefully collected in woven bags and transported to the shore for proper disposal.

The cleaning of the hull is currently in progress. Cleaning workers are utilizing a lifting platform to ensure a thorough cleaning of the hull's surface. This operation is expected to continue until completed.

Furthermore, we have repeatedly emphasized to the dock the importance of taking precautions to prevent oil pollution from the nearby contaminated cargo storage yard. Rainwater runoff from this area poses a potential risk to the marine environment, and we are working closely with the dock to mitigate this risk.
