CEUS Detects Unenhanced Floating Thrombus and Intraplaque Features Missed by Routine Ultrasound

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) played a crucial role in confirming the presence of an unenhanced floating thrombus located at the distal end of a plaque. This finding was consistent with the results obtained from computed tomography angiography (CTA) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Notably, CEUS demonstrated its enhanced sensitivity by revealing the presence of small ulcers and abundant neovascularization within the plaque, features that were not detectable on routine ultrasound.
