Coordinated Development of Human Capital and AI in Chinese Cities: An Analysis Based on Commercial Attractiveness Ranking

This study examines the correlation between a city's economic development and its capacity to foster synergistic growth in human capital and artificial intelligence (AI). Recognizing the significant role geographical location plays in economic development, we utilize the 'China City Commercial Attraction Ranking in 2020' to establish a city ranking system. An average trend chart (Figure 2), derived from this ranking, reveals a consistent upward trend in the coordinated development of human capital and AI across all cities. However, the chart also highlights a notable difference in this development trajectory across cities with varying rankings. Higher-ranked cities demonstrate a more pronounced positive correlation between their ranking and the coordinated development of human capital and AI, suggesting that cities with greater commercial attractiveness are better positioned to facilitate this synergistic growth.
