My favorite course during my undergraduate studies was Epidemiology. I was particularly drawn to this subject because it provided me with a solid understanding of how diseases spread and the methods used to control and prevent them. One of the most interesting topics we discussed was the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in West Africa in 2014-2015. Through this case study, I learned about the importance of surveillance, contact tracing, and community engagement in controlling the spread of infectious diseases. I believe that the knowledge and skills I gained from this course will be invaluable in my future career as a public health professional.
