PowerJet S.A is a joint venture between Snecma (Safran Aircraft Engines) of France and NPO Saturn of Russia. The company was founded in 2004 to develop and produce the SaM146 engine, which powers the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. PowerJet is headquartered in Paris, France, and has its production facility in Rybinsk, Russia. The SaM146 engine is a high-bypass turbofan engine that offers improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise levels. As of 2021, PowerJet has delivered over 500 SaM146 engines to customers around the world.
