Maize Density Limitation in Northeast China: A Combined Effect of Low Temperatures and Droughts

In Northeast China, maize is predominantly grown as a monoculture due to longer growing seasons. However, the critical limitation for increasing maize density in this region is the combination of lower temperatures during the vegetative stage and seasonal droughts during the reproductive stage.
