Statistical Models Overestimate OPDs: A Critical Analysis of Liu et al. (2021) and Luo et al. (2020)

According to statistical models proposed by Liu et al. (2021) and Luo et al. (2020), the optimal planting density (OPD) of crops is significantly overestimated. Liu et al.'s model suggests an average OPD of 10.9 × 10^4 plants per hectare, while Luo et al.'s model estimates 9.4 × 10^4 plants per hectare. This overestimation highlights the need for further research and development of more accurate models for determining optimal planting densities in agricultural settings.
