Tu et al. introduced a lightweight segmentation network and a defects detection network for accurately segmenting and locating fasteners and rails. Their approach enabled the detection of defects in fasteners and rails. On the other hand, Yang et al. presented an end-to-end method for segmenting rail surface defects, eliminating the need for manual defects detection.
