Increased Planting Density Boosts Maize Yield in North America

In North America, the optimal planting density has seen an increase of approximately 18,000 plants per hectare, resulting in a yield increase of 3.5 metric tons per hectare for maize. The contribution of planting density to maize yield gain ranges from 8.5% to 17%. These findings are consistent with the standards set by the Field Crops Research journal.
