Increased Planting Density Drives Maize Yield Gains in North America

In North America, the optimal planting density has increased by approximately 18,000 plants per hectare, resulting in a yield increase of 3.5 megagrams per hectare. The contribution of planting density to maize yield gain ranges from 8.5 to 17%. These findings are in accordance with the standards set by the Nature Communications journal.
