Teacher Retention at Private Universities in Hubei Province, China: A Qualitative Study
This qualitative study examines the factors influencing teacher retention at private universities in Hubei Province, China. Through semi-structured interviews with faculty members, the research aims to address the following questions:

Interview Structure
The interview process is structured into two parts:
Part 1: Interviewer Background Questions This section consists of 10 questions aimed at understanding the interviewees' background and experiences within private universities.

- 'What were the main reasons you chose to teach at this private university?'
- 'In your opinion, what are the advantages of teaching at a private university compared to a public university?'
- 'What are some of the challenges you have faced while teaching at this private university?'
- 'How would you rate the private university's provision of faculty benefits?'
- 'Do you feel the university provides sufficient support for faculty training and professional development?'
- 'What areas do you feel the private university could improve regarding work environment and teaching resources?'
- 'Do you plan to continue teaching at this private university? If not, what are your reasons?'
- 'Have you ever considered teaching at a public university? If so, what are your reasons?'
- 'What suggestions do you have for private universities in Hubei Province to improve teacher retention?'
Part 2: Research Question-Specific Questions This section focuses on the four main research questions, with three follow-up questions for each.
