Quasar Outflows: A Key Mechanism for Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) Feedback and Galaxy Evolution
Quasar outflows have been proposed as potential active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback mechanisms, which could play a role in terminating star formation in the interstellar medium (ISM) and regulating accretion onto the supermassive black hole (SMBH) (Fabian 2012; King & Pounds 2015). Moreover, quasar outflows are also considered as plausible candidates for regulating the coevolution between the central SMBH and its surrounding host galaxy (Kormendy & Ho 2013). Rest-frame UV spectra that exhibit broad absorption lines (BALs) are widely recognized as a key indicator of quasar outflows.
