The nutritional quality of sea cucumber from different geographical origins varies, but the genetic basis of these differences is still unclear. In this study, we conducted chemical composition analysis of wild sea cucumber samples from eight regions in China, and analyzed the differences in nutritional quality among sea cucumbers from different geographical origins. We also performed whole-genome association analysis by combining phenotypic traits and resequencing data to identify significant SNP and candidate genes associated with nutritional quality traits. The results of this study provide resources for future genetic studies and breeding of sea cucumber nutritional quality traits.
