A Shared Future for Mankind: China's Vision for Global Harmony and Brotherhood

The first time I heard the idea to 'promote a sense of community of shared future for mankind' proposed by President Xi Jinping at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in November 2012 and in 2013 at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, one word came to mind: brotherhood. This concept encapsulates China's hope for a harmonious world where all can live peacefully as brothers.

Considering current global trends, including increasing political polarization and socioeconomic disparities between developed and developing nations, the vision for a community of shared future represents the culmination of China's efforts to improve the existing international order. China believes that collaboration with key players and all nations is crucial to sustaining economic globalization, maintaining global governance, and ultimately fostering a community of shared future. This future is envisioned as one built on equal opportunity and access to economic wealth, development, and growth for all.
