小学英语教师传承中国传统文化教学方法

As an English teacher in a primary school, I believe it is important to not only teach the language itself, but also help students understand and appreciate Chinese traditional culture. By integrating elements of traditional culture into my English lessons, I aim to foster a sense of cultural pride and promote the inheritance of our rich heritage.

One way I incorporate Chinese traditional culture into my English lessons is by using traditional stories and fables as reading materials. For example, I may choose to read the story of 'The Monkey King' or 'The Legend of Mulan' in English, and then discuss the cultural significance of these stories with my students. This not only improves their English reading skills, but also exposes them to the values and virtues highlighted in these tales.

In addition, I organize cultural activities and events that allow students to directly experience and participate in traditional Chinese customs. For example, during the Chinese New Year season, I may organize a class dumpling making activity, where students learn about the significance of dumplings in Chinese culture and get hands-on experience in making them. Through such activities, students not only learn about the customs and traditions, but also develop a sense of pride in their own cultural heritage.

Furthermore, I encourage my students to explore and research various aspects of Chinese traditional culture in their own time. I assign projects that require them to learn about traditional festivals, art forms, and historical figures, and then present their findings to the class. This not only deepens their understanding of the culture, but also helps them develop their research and presentation skills in English.

Overall, as an English teacher in a primary school, I believe it is my responsibility to not only teach the language, but also help students appreciate and inherit our Chinese traditional culture. By incorporating cultural elements into my lessons, organizing cultural activities, and encouraging independent exploration, I strive to create a holistic and enriching English learning experience for my students.
