中国新环保法：25年首次修订，环境保护新纪元

On April 24, 2014, the Eighth Session of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress of China voted in favor of the revised Environmental Protection Law. The new law came into effect on January 1, 2015. With this revision, China's 'fundamental law' in the field of environmental protection had been amended for the first time in 25 years. It plays a significant role in promoting environmental protection, addressing prominent environmental issues affecting people's livelihoods, meeting the urgent expectations of the public for a good environment, resolving the contradiction between economic development and environmental protection, and maintaining social stability. The new Environmental Protection Law expands from six chapters and 47 articles in the old law to seven chapters and 70 articles. It refines and supplements many regulations that were previously ambiguous or lacked clear requirements. By comparing and exploring the new additions in the environmental protection law, we can understand the latest trends in national environmental protection and implement and improve the new environmental management system.
