Hybrid Core Reactor Design: Reducing Eddy Current Loss and Temperature Rise with Amorphous Alloy
This paper proposes a hybrid core reactor design utilizing amorphous alloy for core legs and silicon steel for yoke core. In the designed reactor, amorphous alloy is used as core legs and silicon steel is used as yoke core. The electromagnetic and thermal field coupled model is built using three-dimensional finite element method. Compared with the conventional silicon-steel core reactor, the simulation results show that the designed hybrid core reactor can reduce eddy-current loss and temperature rise.
