Impact of 10Hz rTMS on Hemispheric Asymmetry in Disorders of Consciousness
Hemispheric asymmetry is a notable characteristic of the human brain, but its importance in patients with disorders of consciousness (DOC) is still uncertain. The posterior parietal cortex (PPC) has been linked to the upkeep of consciousness. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown the potential to restore consciousness in certain patients by adjusting cortical excitability. In this study, we examined the effects of 10 Hz rTMS on the left PPC in DOC patients, specifically targeting hemispheric asymmetry.
