Counterfeit Pokémon Products Seized: CCR Program Combats Misbranded ASINs

To recap, one of the main challenges faced by the CCR program in 2022 was the issue of misbranded ASINs. For example, there were instances where the product title was "Chanel Bag" but the actual brand name was "XYZ". Among the top targeted brands, Pokémon was one that we escalated to the CCU team.

To identify the warehouse of two suppliers selling risky Pokémon products on 1688, the CCU team collaborated with AGS, BPSP, and the Public Security Bureau of Shenzhen. Through this partnership, we were able to locate 712,854 pieces of Pokémon play cards, 67 pieces of Pokémon gold souvenir banknotes, and 12 pieces of Pokémon silver souvenir banknotes on site. All of these counterfeit items were seized.

Further investigation revealed that 27 Amazon sellers were sourcing their supplies from these two suppliers. These sellers had managed to sell counterfeit Pokémon products valued at over 810K+ USD on Amazon's NA and EU marketplaces.
