Maternity Leave Policy in China: Duration, Eligibility, and Options

Maternity leave is granted to employees upon request and generally begins 6 weeks (42 days) before the expected due date. In the case of twins or higher-order multiples, maternity leave can begin 14 weeks (98 days) before the expected due date. Employees also have the option to continue working until they go into labor, depending on their individual circumstances.
