My name is Sun Leyu, and I am currently studying Maritime Technology at Dalian Maritime University. I come from Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aDuring my undergraduate studies, I maintained a GPA of 3.66 and ranked 6th in my major. In my third year, I achieved a GPA of over 4.0 in my major courses. I also passed the CET-4 and CET-6 exams in one attempt. According to the university's criteria for recommendation, I am eligible for a recommendation for graduate school. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aThroughout my undergraduate studies, I have taken courses such as Ship Modeling and Control, Ship Principles, Ship Structures, Ship Collision Avoidance and Watchkeeping, and Marine Radar. I have performed well in these courses, obtaining excellent grades. In terms of mathematics, I have studied Advanced Mathematics, Complex Functions, Linear Algebra, and Probability Theory. I have also studied C programming and have some familiarity with MATLAB and the Simulink toolbox through my studies in modeling and control. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aAlthough I did not participate in any research projects during my undergraduate stage, I gained knowledge in the field of control through the Ship Modeling and Control course in my third year. I conducted experiments using provided models for heading keeping control and water tank level control. These experiences sparked my interest in control, leading me to apply for a graduate program in this field. For my final paper in the Ship Modeling and Control course, I optimized the water tank level control using tangent function modulation, improving performance indicators and achieving more energy-efficient and stable results under the guidance of my professor. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aIn terms of extracurricular activities, I have mostly engaged in part-time jobs through the Work-Study program. I have worked as a library administrator and a cafeteria server. I also enjoy participating in university activities, such as the city-wide hiking event in Dalian and volunteering for the Dalian Music Festival. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aIn conclusion, I believe I am a lively individual who is dedicated to study. I have strong learning abilities and am confident in my capability to handle graduate-level work. However, I do recognize that I have some disadvantages. Coming from a background in Maritime Technology, I may face initial challenges when transitioning to the field of control. If accepted, I will actively communicate with my professors, proactively learn, and strive to fill any knowledge gaps before starting the program. \u000d\u000a\u000d\u000aCurrently, my plan is leaning towards seeking employment after completing my graduate studies.
