While the sun's action is described using the past tense ("peeked"), the birds' behavior is depicted using the present tense ("chirped"). According to grammatical rules, when actions or events in a sentence or paragraph occur at the same time, consistent verb tenses should be employed. Therefore, "chirped" should be changed to "chirps" to maintain tense consistency.
