Single Output Buffer Equivalent Circuit: Design & Function

The equivalent circuit for a single output buffer is depicted in Figure 16. Each buffer is supplied with power from OVDD and OGND, which are separate from the power and ground of the ADC. The inclusion of an N-channel transistor in the output driver enables operation at low voltages. The output is equipped with an internal resistor in series, which gives the appearance of a 50Ω output to external circuitry and may eliminate the necessity for external damping resistors.
