My Experience with Yaks and Camping, and Thoughts on Homesickness

Chinese students usually have a three-month long vacation after their final exams. During that time, I usually go out traveling with friends or something like that. And on one of those trips, I saw yaks! They have long brown fur, but some have white faces. It was strange... like the Phantom of the Opera 🙂 I'm a little jealous that you've seen cheetahs in the wild. If it were me, I would definitely tell every friend about it hahaha. What's camping like? Is it colder at night than indoors? I think it's a bit challenging, and it would be even more challenging to encounter big animals while camping. But being able to watch the sunrise on the mountains must be amazing! I've seen the sunrise at the beach before, and it truly is a dreamy sight.

Ohh I like your name, it has a nice meaning and it looks good when spelled out. Hahaha yes, you can tell a lot of expectations from parents to their children through their names, but we may not necessarily fulfill them completely. Just like how I've never written poetry, I just read a lot of it. My friends aren't interested in them, and most people here don't like them either.

I also have a big family and a lot of relatives, some of whom I've only met once or twice. It's definitely one of the most embarrassing things when they ask me, 'I held you when you were a baby. Do you remember?' And there are always some dramatic incidents happening at dinner parties.

Yes, I feel the same as you... about homesickness. I complain about a lot of things that happened in my hometown, but I can't stop missing it. It gives me my food preferences, the accent when I speak a certain language, and the unspoken understanding between me and my closest friends. There's a saying in my hometown that goes like this. Of course, I'm doing well in the new city and have met many new friends. But at certain moments, this saying suddenly hits me.

My favorite animal... hmm... I think it's pandas? Many people here love pandas. Overall, I like furry and lazy animals, like cats, pandas, and koalas... because they live the life I want hahaha. Wake up and eat a lot, spend the whole day in a cool place. Dolphins are cute too... especially when they live in the ocean and not in zoos. How was your trip on that island? Is it a place you would like to visit again?
