Ta-pieh Mountains: A Geographic Overview in Central China

The Ta-pieh Mountains are located at the junction of Anhui, Hubei, and Henan provinces in China. They are adjacent to the Tongbai Mountains in the west and extend to Huoshan (also known as Wanshan) and Zhangbalin in the east. The range stretches about 380 kilometers from east to west and is approximately 175 kilometers wide from north to south. The western section runs in a northwest-southeast direction, while the eastern section runs in a northeast-southwest direction. The mountains are around 270 kilometers long and have an average elevation of 500 to 800 meters.
