Patient Medical Image Registration with World Coordinate System: A Monocular Camera-Based Approach
To achieve patient medical image registration with the world coordinate system, this study unifies the medical image coordinate system and patient coordinate system in the world coordinate system defined by a monocular camera. The breakthrough in aligning the medical image space coordinate system with the world coordinate system lies in the registration of medical images and patients. This study uses personalized markers that are rigidly fixed to the patient during surgery, treating the marker coordinate system as part of the patient coordinate system for registration. As medical images are obtained through patient scans, this paper uses the characteristic that patients and markers exist in the real world and in image form in the image space to complete the registration of the two coordinate systems. The medical image-patient space registration process is shown in Figure 1.
