ATE Firmware and ATPG Vectors: A Comprehensive Testing Approach for PHY Devices

ATE firmware is designed to be used in conjunction with ATPG vectors. ATPG vectors test the majority of the digital logic, while ATE firmware tests many of the analog functions (PLL, LCDLs, IO drivers and receivers, etc.) of the PHY, as well as some digital logic not covered by the ATPG patterns (such as certain clock crossing paths). This combined approach ensures thorough testing of both digital and analog functionality within the PHY device.
