ATE Firmware: Complementing ATPG Vectors for Comprehensive PHY Testing

The ATE firmware is a software program designed to work together with the ATPG vectors, which are test patterns used to test digital logic. While the ATPG patterns test most of the digital logic, the ATE firmware is responsible for testing many of the analog functions, such as the PLL, LCDLs, IO drivers and receivers, among others. Additionally, the ATE firmware may test some of the digital logic that is not covered by the ATPG patterns, such as clock crossing paths. Essentially, the ATE firmware complements the ATPG vectors to ensure that all aspects of the PHY are thoroughly tested.
