These findings suggest that the Commander complex plays a role in processes like cilium assembly, cell cycle, and organelle biogenesis. Additionally, Boesch et al's cryo-EM structure of Retriever revealed how cancer-related mutations can hinder Commander formation and affect membrane protein homeostasis.
