Joko Widodo, also known as Jokowi, is the current President of Indonesia. He was born on June 21, 1961, in Surakarta, Central Java. He started his political career as the mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012 and later became the governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, he was elected as the 7th President of Indonesia and was re-elected in 2019. Jokowi is known for his populist policies and his efforts to improve infrastructure and reduce poverty in Indonesia.
