Great Britain: Island, Countries, and the UK

Great Britain is a large island located in the north-western part of Europe, and is comprised of three countries: England, Scotland, and Wales. Together with Northern Ireland, which is located on a separate island to the west, they form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The term 'Great Britain' is often used to refer to the whole of the UK, although technically it only refers to the island that includes England, Scotland, and Wales.
