Debunking the Myth: Immigrants Do Not Steal Jobs from Americans

Contrary to popular belief, immigrants do not displace American workers from their jobs. Immigrants tend to fill positions that Americans are unable or unwilling to take, mainly at the high and low ends of the skill spectrum. Immigrants are disproportionately represented not only in high-skilled fields such as medicine, physics, and computer science, but also in low-skilled sectors like hotels and restaurants, domestic service, construction, and light manufacturing.
