Jokowi, or Joko Widodo, is the current president of Indonesia. He was born in Surakarta, Central Java, on June 21, 1961. Prior to becoming president, Jokowi served as the governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. He is known for his down-to-earth demeanor and populist policies, with a focus on improving infrastructure, reducing poverty, and promoting economic growth in Indonesia. Jokowi was re-elected as president in 2019 and is currently serving his second term in office.
