High-Gain, Low-Profile Aperture-Coupled CP ME Dipole Antenna with SICL Feeding
In this letter, we present a high-gain, low-profile aperture-coupled CP ME dipole antenna. This antenna is composed of an electric dipole (E-dipole) and a magnetic dipole (M-dipole). It is fed by a substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL), which is a low-dispersive structure first proposed in [7] and later applied in [8]-[10]. The sandwich structure of the SICL effectively reduces the dispersion of the microstrip line and helps suppress backlobe radiation. Additionally, the SICL offers design flexibility advantages when compared to waveguides or substrate integrated waveguides (SIW).
