Hemiplegic Balance Impairment: A Network Perspective on Muscle Coordination and Fall Risk
These findings indicate that good standing balance performance is strongly correlated with loose overall topological connections and a lower degree of intermuscular coupling in hemiplegic patients. This implies that pathologically enhanced muscle coordination is one of the direct causes of poor balance performance in these individuals. Improving balance control by enhancing muscle coordination relationships is a reliable approach for these patients. Furthermore, balance and fall risk in hemiplegic patients can be indirectly determined by network analysis, providing valuable insights for personalized intervention strategies.
