Bcube Ground Handling Issues and Potential Solutions

Yesterday, Fabio and I had a long call with bcube. The main issue is that they have limited resources and willingness to support us. The main problem is money, as always. The actions they are taking include reducing the number of people operating in the warehouse, providing worse service, causing backlog and delays in Noa, and having long waiting times for collecting goods. There have also been strikes, which have led to a high-level 'cold war' with IATA/airport property, resulting in increased costs and indirectly pushing customers to pay more for a basic service that used to be standard.

However, we informed bcube that Hong Kong Yunexpress is willing to sign a direct handling contract for MPC and FCO. We are also willing to pick up PMC directly and monitor the process and data with API integration. The same discussion will take place with Alpha next week, as I have a physical meeting scheduled on July 5th.

The main point is that bcube will try to make us pay more. So, compared to now, when we collect goods without priority, our ground handling costs will definitely increase. Fabio mentioned that we will try to use an algorithm to prioritize which AWBs to collect and which ones to collect standard, based on time.

Regarding Saturday collections, we wanted to start this Saturday, but bcube blocked us for several reasons. Firstly, today is a holiday, so all employees will return on Monday. Secondly, due to the holiday, the number of operators is reduced. Lastly, they believe we need to set up a specific procedure for collecting on Saturdays, which is new to us. The reality is that almost no one collects on Saturdays, and they don't have enough people willing to work.

This is the updated situation. While we are trying to move forward, they are trying to slow us down. As for BME, it is not true that they don't have resources. They are implementing the forecast increase, but the waiting time in bcube is definitely affecting their ability to collect and deliver goods on time, as several trucks are stuck in the ground handler loading bay for hours.
