Glass lighting devices that require flame melting for sealing the bulb envelope need to be manufactured in a way that protects the inner components that are sensitive to heat. During the sealing process, these components are moved away from the heating point to prevent damage. Once the heating procedure is complete, these components can be moved back into their original positions.
