How to Rename a File: Simple Guide & Keyboard Shortcut

To rename a file, follow these steps:

1. Locate the file you want to rename in your file manager or desktop.

2. Right-click on the file and select 'Rename' from the context menu.

3. The file name will now be highlighted, allowing you to type in a new name.

4. Enter the new name you want to give the file.

5. Press Enter or click away from the file name to save the new name.

Alternatively, you can also click on the file once to select it, and then press the F2 key to enter rename mode. Then, follow steps 3-5 above to rename the file.
