NP1 and RPA Colocalize and Are Recruited to the AAV2 Replication Center During Viral Replication

This study investigated the interaction between the AAV2 protein NP1 and the cellular protein RPA. The authors found that NP1 directly interacts with RPA 'in vitro' and observed colocalization of NP1 and RPA in cells. They also showed that both NP1 and RPA are recruited into the AAV2 replication center during productive viral replication. These findings provide insight into the mechanism of AAV2 replication and may have implications for the development of AAV-based gene therapies.
