芜湖市民眼中的城市变化：美好与挑战并存

Ladies and gentlemen, hello. I am an ordinary citizen of Wuhu city. In recent years, I have witnessed the improvement of the living environment in Wuhu, mainly in the following aspects.

Wuhu has built many wetland parks and protected areas. People say that Wuhu is a city of half mountains and half waters. The government has transformed many wetlands into parks, promoting biodiversity and becoming a good place for people to relax and take a walk.
Wuhu has transformed its black and malodorous water bodies. Victory Canal used to be a market where many merchants discharged sewage and wastewater into the canal, causing serious pollution. After renovation, it has become a place where flowers bloom and the water is clear, becoming a place for people to take a walk and appreciate flowers.
Wuhu has established many pocket parks. The government's concept is 'greenery within 300 meters, park within 500 meters.' Many old buildings have been demolished and transformed into parks, with many trees planted. This not only benefits the health of the elderly but also facilitates exercise for everyone near their homes without having to travel far.
Wuhu has built a convenient public transportation system, especially the light rail, which is clean, pollution-free, and comfortable, and is deeply loved by people.

These are some good changes I have observed in recent years, but they have also sparked many negative changes.

Due to the development of the express delivery and takeout industries, tons of plastic waste have been produced, and how to deal with this plastic waste has become a problem.
Another issue is how to deal with kitchen waste. Many untreated kitchen waste emits a foul odor in summer and attracts many mosquitoes and insects. Some small restaurants directly pour dirty water and wastewater onto the road, causing the city to look unsightly.
The last point is that there is too much floating dust. The reason for this phenomenon may be due to too much infrastructure construction.

I hope the government can introduce some good policies and measures. Only when these problems are solved can the living standards of the people continue to improve.
