Quantitative Skills & Programming Experience: ESB Programme

I understand that the ESB programme values candidates with strong quantitative and programming skills. Last semester, I took QMSS 301 - Quantitative Social Science Analysis and Big Data, where I honed my skills in Python and R to gather and analyze data. I completed a web scraping and sentiment analysis project, using Python to extract comments from a social media post (Reddit) and creating visualizations. This project enhanced my skills and prepared me for the ESB programme, while giving me a deeper understanding of how quantitative methods can empower social scientists and students to analyze research problems efficiently.
